Why The Name Had to Change
We all know that names carry power. They shape perception, expectations, and identity. For more than five years, Campaign for the Entire God Damn World was more than just a title: it was a rallying cry, a badge of chaos and pride, and a reflection of the irreverent spirit that launched this project all those years ago. It captured our frustration with simpler games, our thirst for complexity, and the aboslute absurdity of trying to simulate an entire world on a whim.
But, as the game grew, so did the distance between that original, raw concept and what we've since become. What started as a rough-and-tumble sandbox has transformed into a layered, evolving system, and a world that deserves a name that reflects its depth, ambition, and maturity.
Campaign for the Entire God Damn World was honest and memorable, but it was also unwieldy, difficult to say in conversation, and to be blunt, a little intimidating to newcomers. It carried the weight of an inside joke, which was perfect for early development, but less so for a game now reaching out to a wider community.
Enter Global Nexus: a name chosen to represent the interconnected web of diplomacy, conflict, economics, and culture that defines what the game has become. "Global" captures the scale of the nations and players that weave stories together, and "Nexus" speaks to the critical points of interactions: where policies collide, alliances form, and histories are made.
This change isn't about losing the past, I like to think it's about embracing the future. Campaign for the Entire God Damn World will always be a foundational chapter in our story - it's where we came from, after all.
But Global Nexus is the platform upon which the next chapters will be built.
We hope this new name invites more into our beloved game and the community around it, with more stories to tell and worlds to shape - together.
